My boyfriend and I have been dating for over two years. We've talked about how we both agree we want to spend the rest of our lives together. I was thinking of asking him to get married, have a commitment ceremony, or whatever you would like to call it. We're going on a trip later this month, and I was thinking of asking him then. I'm not sure how I should ask him. Should I get a ring? What should I say? Anything original and romantic is appreciated.

Just because I am asking for suggestions should not diminish the moment. It isn't like I am asking somebody else to do this for me. Also, I'm looking for ideas. Ideas are something I can alter to make my own. Why do you have to hate on the fact that I want ideas for how to ask the man I love to commit himself to me for life? Yes, I have thoughts of how I can do this, but I want it to happen in a way that will adequately express my love. If that means asking people for ideas, so be it.

Whatever you do, make sure its UNIQUE! Make a game out of it, leave little notes around the house (or hotel if on vacation) that will lead him to the ring, hide the ring in something and give him funny clues in each note. Hide while he's discovering it. Then BAMB! Surprise him and ask him! Think creativly and put your heart into it, while making the notes if you chose to do this. Or you could always come back to yahoo and ask us what to say ;)

Good luck :)

I lvoe the movies and I used an idea I got from there..... We were in our hotel room in Florida on His high school reunion, and we needed a break to relax.... As he lie on the bed I moved over to the bed and took a piece of string and tied it onto his ring finger and with the other end I held it up high and the ring sled right onto his finger and I told him how much he means to be and blah blah and would he mayy me, it worked like a charm and very unique. The movie, Stepmom with Julia Roberts.. Good luck and let me know where the wedding is, I can be your flower girl!!!!!

Bless your hearts!!

Here's the thing: If you're smart and lucky, this will be the only time in your LIFE that you'll ever propose to someone. Do you really want that proposal to come from someone elses imagination? Do you really want US to tell you what to say so that for the rest of your life you'll know that the words weren't your own, or would you rather have them come from YOU?

You think about it and get back to us.

Mike, you probably both have hobbies or interests, some in common and others that are more yours or his, but you do them together. When you are participating in one of his and enjoying his presence, pop the question. The moment will be special and will stick with you both forever. Good luck!

If you know your partner and already talked about it....a trip is kewl to make the move....hes not going to freak out on a trip that is for fun...

Romance is the more memorable way to go

Have you though about a special place you both know....the place you meet (this is the spot where i found my life mate).....a place you both like (this is the place i fell in love with you)........or place you hang out (i want everyone to know that that were partners for life) to get a crowd cheer.

trip are better to celebrate.........than to make moments to revisit time and time again......

No,I wouldn't get the ring...I think you should both pick out something that you are sure you both like...Yes, you should ask him. Of course! I don't know what you should say...maybe just tell him like it is. Good luck.
