how do you hand jive? ( like in the movie "Grease"?)?

slap thighs...clap twice...one hand on top of the other...left right...switch hands...fist on top of fist hit 2 times...switch hands...thumbs up left...thumbs up right.

Umm, someone taught me to do this.

1. Clap your hands twice.

2. Palms down bring one hand over the other one twice (left to right type motion), then repeat with the other hand on top.

3. Then do a mashed potatoe type thing with fists. Right one or left one on top of the other two times. Then repeat with the other hand on top.

4. Then make the thumbs up sign and move it from center of your body to beside your ear twice like you're pointing behind your back. Then repeat with the other hand.

Hope that helps. I'm sure there are bound to be other ways, but that's the one I learned.

As far as I know it goes a little something like this:

1) slap your thighs twice (one hand on each thigh)
2) clap twice
3) make your hands into fists and hit one on top of the other, twice each
4) open up your hands and pass one hand over the other while the other is passing under. do this twice.
5) do thumbs up point your thumb behind you twice each hand.

Can't you just rent the movie and watch them do it? If I remember correctly it's:

Two slaps on your thighs
Clap your hands twice
Right hand moves over the top of left hand twice
Lef hand moves over the top of the right hand twice

Then -

Two slaps on your thighs
Clap your hands twice
Make a fist with both hands - and your thumbs are sticing out - like hitchking.
Fists go over the left shoulder twice
Fists go over the right shoulder twice

That's all I can remember.
