It's believed to be part of the blaster worm that struck a while back. Blaster affected Windows XP and 2000 systems. Windows XP computers that don't have Service Pack 2 installed are especially vulnerable. Installing a good firewall (ZoneAlarm Free firewall is the best http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en ) will stop the pop up message but i'd use a tool to check to make sure you're not infected with blaster or with any other type of worm. This tool from Norton can remove blaster http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2003-081119-5051-99 If you want to learn more about blaster and what it exactly was, here's an article you can check out from WikiPedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaster_worm

That sounds like the old MSBlast virus or something similar to it.
