I went to GA and it was raining, and the road was really soaked with water and eventually my truck started stalling and i pulled over, and if i gave it more gas it would stall, but if i let off it would run fine, and also my check engine light usually stays on but when it happens it makes the light go off, somebody told me that a distribitor cap can do that, but i am wondering could it be something else?

Be careful because going through a large amount of water can crack your engine block.

You may be due for a new cap, rotor, and plug wires. Gotta keep the electricity from finding its way to ground thru the moisture. Try it,it'll work.

Unless you are prepared (sealed and snorkeled) for deep-water driving , go slow through puddles and such....when water gets on/into your distributor , you WILL stall.....(sometimes even when sealed water condensates inside cap from temp. differences )
