mail moves every day but christmas and new years day, when you mailed your package, it moved that saturday night and sunday, it and no other mail moved new years day, then tuesday it moved again, so your package should arrive wednesday as scheduled, since it is a priority package it will move with the first class mail.

Based on my observations, mail is always moving. I live near major post offices in NYC and everyday of the week there is activity and trucks moving.
While nobody can guarantee where your package is (it is the post office) i can tell you they do work on sundays.

THOUGH SOME MAIL TRAVELS BY PLANE--THE OVERWHELMING TONS MOVE AT NIGHT BY CONTRACT HAULERS ---SEMI-TRUCKS IN THREE DAYS YOU CAN BE ANYWHERE IN THE LOWER 48 ---THE BIG PROBLEM IS THE MAIL SERVICE PEOPLE HANDLING IT FAST ENOUGH WHEN THEY RECIEVE IT....SOMETIMES A P.O. BOX HELPS GET IT A LITTLE FASTER---OVER A NORMAL WEEKEND EVEN THOUGH THEY RECIEVE IT ON MONDAY--IT MAY NOT ALL GET PUT -UP ( PIGEON-HOLED FOR THE CARRIER ) TIL TUESDAY & 3RD CLASS ON WED. OR THURS....FRIDAY IS THE BIGGEST INITIAL DEPOSIT FOR DELIVERY....THAT'S WHY MILLIONS OF TONS MOVE BY THOUSANDS OF TRUCKS ,OVER THE WEEKEND......IF A HOLIDAY IS ENVOLVED--ADD ANOTHER DAY OR TWO.......

I don't think so. All Federal employees were off. I know I'm not planning on my checks making it to pay my bills. At least for the ones that don't have on line paying. I wouldn't hold my breath for Wednesday. With the volume alone, plan on Thursday.
