i just consider them socks--their own category.

It kinda depends. I like to wear pantyhose and consider them socks but underwear too. I am a guy by the way. Normal cotton ankel socks no. Thigh high and trouser socks yes.

Yes, you wear socks UNDER your shoes (so that makes them underwear) and if you look for socks in a store, they're in the underwear section.

They would go under the stocking category. Besides who wears underwear any more. Depends work much better.

technically socks count as underwear, stocking definitely count.

Well if their pantie hose then they would be.
But no socks wouldn't be underwear.
