Uhm.. arrange marriages mostly happens in Indian families. So i would guess that your friend or whoever is an Indian. Anyhow being an Indian( hindu) myself, i would say it would be quite weird. But yes there is possible that they would develop feelings sooner or later.Infact , the courting session that supposedly happen before marriage would be done after marriage.I guess in a sense it has more thrills finding out lil stuff bit by bit bout a person after marriage since it a brand new rship. But on the long run, any marriage works based on trust ,understanding, tolerance, love. So as long as both the parties put in effort they would lead a happylife.
It may not be all lovey dovey all the way. It takes time.

I have heard stories of arranged marriages working out where they develop feelings for each other. I do not agree with arranged marriages at all! I believe that a person should be able to decide for themselves who they will marry and spend their life with. Unfortunately, arranged marriages happen all around the world. That fact makes me sad.
I do not understand how people are supposed to be fine with arranged marriages and I'm sure there are plenty who were against it. I myself couldn't do it.
I hope this is a hypothetical question and not what your going through. If it is something that happen or is happening to you then I am very sorry!
Good luck!

I don't know, I think it would work out quite well. I can tell you I would trust the judgment of 4 middle aged people with younger peoples best interest at heart than I would 2 hormone filled teenagers that only wanna "get it on." OKOK Maybe not only wanna get it on but you get the point. They SHOULD have better judgment as far as what the future will hold for their son/daughter's relationship. Also, it is not like in the US and some places in Europe. Kids are raised to do exactly as they are told. No questions asked. No explanations necessary. It has worked in many many parts of the world for centuries. MUCH better than "love" marriages do, according to the latest statistics.

Sex is very possible between people who don't know each other.
Arranged marriages actually have better success rates than love marriages. BUT you have to take into account cultures where arranged marriages are still common.

Dear ABC,
My parents went through a arranged marriage n I think many Asians can support me on this matter..
Marriage is not a one day affair..They were happily married until my Mum passed away ..My Dad was so heartbroken that he was never the same jovial person because he loved my Mum so much!!
Yes ! It may look cruel at times..but I am sure the parents would look for the best for their children..
Nobody in their right mind would want their children to suffer.
I went through the same process but mine was slightly different!
I was introduced to my present wife through my friends
I was fortunate to have dated for 11 mths be4 marrying..
That was 19 years ago..It takes time..of course not on the first night.COG
