Before you have this procedure done you should know that there is a very real risk of loss of sensitivity as this study shows.

Excerpts from the report:
OBJECTIVES: Currently no consensus exists about the role of the foreskin or the effect circumcision has on penile sensitivity and overall sexual satisfaction. Our study assesses the effect of circumcision on sexually active men and the relative impact this may have on informed consent prior to surgery.
Penile sensation improved after circumcision in 38% (p = 0.01) but got worse in 18%, with the remainder having no change. Overall satisfaction was 61%.
CONCLUSIONS: Penile sensitivity had variable outcomes after circumcision. The poor outcome of circumcision considered by overall satisfaction rates suggests that when we circumcise men, these outcome data should be discussed during the informed consent process. 2005 S. Karger AG, Basel
I would recommend getting a second opinion before having this done; it is very rare to actually need to have the foreskin amputated. Competent doctors can treat an intact penis without cutting. One out of five men circumcised suffers loss of sensitivity and one out of three is not satisfied with the results, these are not very good odds. There are better treatments available.
I would point out that while this study shows that adult men should be warned of the possibility of sensitivity loss before they can give "informed consent" to circumcision, there is no way that a newborn boy can give his informed consent to an elective procedure that has a 1 in 5 chance of leaving him with an impaired sex-life.
His body. His choice.

I think you are asking if adults CAN be circumcised, the answer is yes. Its not done as often as it is with infants but it is done.
When an adult is circumcised it is usually because there is a very real and obvious medical necessity of some kind. But sometimes a man just decides that he want's to be circumcised. And you can get various kinds of circumcisions - some remove all of the foreskin, others remove only a portion of it. Your doctor should be able to tell you about the different kinds of circumcisions. If he can't then find another dotor.

If you are asking whether adults can be circumcised, then the answer is yes - easily and painlessly. I was circumcised as an adult and it was most untraumatic. I had no pain, only minor discomfort during the healing process (3 weeks) due to night-time erections which pulled hard on the stitches. Circumcision is very beneficial and provides for much better hygiene, comfort, appearance to women, self-esteem and FAR better sex for both the man and his female partner(s) I have been circumcised for 22 years and I can honestly say that there have been no disadvantages at all. My wife and I believe that all men should be circumcised. If your question was whether adults should be able to have their sons circumcised, then the answer is again yes - circumcision is most easily performed in infancy and the benefits are there for life. Parents have a duty to do the best for their offspring and for boys, the best means to be circumcised.

Yes, they can be circumcised. Many are. It is a good idea. It is their choice. Usually, urologists, who are trained as surgeons and who know the genitals well, do the surgery. It is done as an outpatient. It is brief surgery using local anesthesia. You feel no pain. Some discomfort afterward. Erections are controlled. No sex for a month. Most go back to work or to school after a few days.
The websites listed below will give you details about the surgery and the recovery. The second one has testimonies from adults, who were circumcised, about their surgery and recovery.

definite an grownup male would be circumcised. All you're able to do is get a doctor to coach it truly is for a scientific reason and you're set to pass. i might do a splash diagnosis on the technique earlier you think of approximately getting something like that executed first.

Anybody can be circumcised, but it is not recommended for girls and women as it has no benefits for them, decreases their pleasure with their husbands, and endangers their health. In men it has been reported to decrease the infection rate from HIV but of course it does not prevent it - the countries with the highest prevalence of HIV in the world are also those where male circumcision is widely practiced.

YES definetely, you can get circumcised at any age
CIRCUMCISION IS VERY BENEFICIAL, its cleaner, healthier and several prestigious research institutions have proved that circumcised men have less risk of contracting STD's such as AIDS-HIV, syphilis or herpes.
Uncircumcised penises are difficult to keep clean, and more prone to infections and penile cancer, studies have shown.
A circumcised penis is naturally clean and virtually free from urinary infections. You will not have to worry again with careful washing of your penis.
About STD's:
As I said, several studies carried out by prestigious research bodies have proved that uncircumcised penises are more prone to infections and contraction of STD's, including AIDS-HIV. It has been confirmed that circumcised men are up to 70% less likely to be infected than those who are uncircumcised. Have a look at this site: http://www.torontodailynews.com/index.php/HealthNews/2006121404Circumcision
As for women, studies also show that circumcision also protects female partners from AIDS-HIV and other STD's. Browse this article: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/Press_releases/2006/02_08_06.html
About sensitivity of a circumcised penis:
NO medical or physiological study has ever shown that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed to common belief. It is completely FALSE that circumcision reduces penis sensitivity. The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) confirms this on their web site; have a look at: http://www.aap.org/pubed/zzzjzmemh4c.htm
Circumcision is an easy and nowadays *painless* procedure, which has many benefits, and virtually no risks.
Circumcision is NOT an amputation. Circumcision is NOT comparable at all to female circumcision, which is something completely different.
Circumcision rates are INCREASING nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African, Asian and Latin American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.
Finally, this site has a lot of useful and *unbiased* information. Make sure you have a good look: http://www.circinfo.net

It can be done if there is a severe medical problem, but all other alternatives should be explored first. It's going to hurt. Not when it's done, as they numb it, but for weeks after. They'll tell you not to get erections for a month - just try! Then you're left with a mutilated member that has less sexual sensitivity and gives your woman much less pleasure. It's insane to cut off a healthy and functional body part for fashion.
