Mothers and daughters bathe together, so why cant a father and son? I am a single mother, so i have found it much easier and quicker to put my son in the shower with me.(he is only 2) this has been the ritual since he was an infant, so he knows not to touch mommies 'private places' and he also knows that he has private places. He does his own washing, and I just do a quick wipe down with the washcloth to make sure he did a through job. Everybody has their own opinion on this, so you wont get two answers the same. And what I meant by quicker and easier, is that he doesnt take very long naps, and by the time he goes to bed, I am usually ready as well, so this insures that we both get our daily bath, and that he isnt running around crazy getting into things that he isnt supposed to be in while I am in the shower.

I think it's OK if the son is young, not able to bath himself and at the age where all things are innocent to him. Now when the child is at that age where he needs to know everything and is curious about all things and is wanting to touch everything that is interesting to his sight then, NO. A father should make sure that his son knows about the male body and how it will change and look as he grows, (of course at the age when the boy will understand), but fathers should be careful not to maybe shock, confuse or even give his son things to talk about with others, by letting his son see him nude with out having talked before or with out there even being a reason for his son to see him naked, esp. at that early curious age. Do it while he's too small to handle his own bath/shower but make sure he knows that you're in there with him to help and show him how to shower and clean himself and not just there to have fun in the water with Dad. Don't think it's a good idea to always shower with him at bath time but good to bath him in tub, he might think it's OK & normal to have Dad or any other guy (family or not) watch him or be around while he is bathing or even nude if Dad showers with him all the time.

What exactly do you mean bathing together.On the same beach,pool,river?
Or do you mean showering,or sharing a bath.Personally I see nothing wrong in a father sharing a bath with son/daughter till 6or7.Sorry that's how it is.People have this weird belief that dad's want to have some repulsive relationship with thier offspring.

lol nice... depends really on the age some guys things it better when there 12 if they can get there sons to show about the males penis with out someone walking in on them but ever 5-9 its ok teaches your kid how to take showers oh and bathing about same thing also but bathing in a tube u would be on top each other almost and it might go a little to far your daddy or u just might want to sit on there stick and have a little fun then u can teach about s*e*x (lol I just came up with this i am sorry i am bored :P)

You won't find agreemont on this issue as some people think its OK and others think its a horrible idea.

I feel that we all need to be less ashamed of our bodies. And we need to teach our children to not be ashamed of their bodies. There is a time and place for everything and kids are smart enough to know that they should wear clothes in public or when other people are around. But family is family and I see no harm in brothers and sisters and parents being naked in front of each other as long as everybody behaves themselves.

Being naked with your children in an appropriate manner, including bath time, is a great way to teach you children that there is nothing wrong with their bodies and also that they need to take care of their bodies and keep them clean just like mom and dad do. It is also a great opportunity to teach them respectful limits on what is and what is not appropriate behavior about their bodies.

So I say its OK to bathe with the kids as long as you aren't being sexual about it.

I think its fine if a son bathes with his father. However, once he begins to ask about penises and genitalia you should stop showering with him. You should tell your son about the penis and scrotum, but then its time to stop. If a father is bathing with his son, then the father should not touch him sexually or any way inappropriately. When the father tells the son about its time to stop showering together, then its fine but just tell him these are private and only a doctor or parent can touch it. I remember when I was little I showered with my dad, but when I asked, he told me that these areas of our bodies are private and I accepted that. I then showered by myself.

What a great way to bond with a Child! i often put both my girls in the bath with their dad!
Its great time for them and him and they are less curiouse about bits and pieces.
My mum used too always shove us in the bath with my dad and they only one that it didn't happen too was my sister she is now 16 and a little promiscuous.
Any way i think go for it bath with your son why not?

When the child "gets curious" is time to start thinking it's time to bath separate or maybe a brief "did you get clean" inspection. A father needs to explain to the son the reason for genital hygiene early so it won't embarrass the child later.

Is it strange that a mother undresses in front of her daughter? or if she takes a shower with her daughter? People need to chill.Just because they take a shower, that does not mean that the father is pulling anything funky (if that was the case, then yes, it would be strange and I would have to cut his nuts off)
