Michigan is in the Big 10(11). The Big 10(11) has been a weak conference for a few years now, but since their champ was an automatic bid into the Rose Bowl, as was the Pacific 10 champ, for the Rose Bowl to be allowed to host a BCS game, they would need to be in the six conference lineup of automatic bids.
Ohio State was undefeated, so they should be in there, and I do feel the SEC has been the toughest conference this decade, so Florida should be there as well. So, the game is correct with me.
The only true way to have a real champ is to go to a playoff system, but then there will be complaints there also.

Ok first off
michigan is in the big ten
and looking on the fact that ohio state went undefeated
and usc and lsu both have two losses
i think ohio state deserves a spot
i also believe that the bcs should take into account that boise state deserved a spot because they won every game on their schedule
including the fiesta bowl
it wasnt their choice of who they played
they went out there and won every game and that should be the team that plays in the national championship

What a great idea. We should let teams with 2 or 3 losses play for the title every year, forget about undefeated or one-loss teams. Especially when that one loss team(Florida) beat the 2 loss team(LSU) and the other 2 loss team lost to two unranked teams. That logic is flawless.
Better yet, let's do like everyone else is thinking and let a team who's toughest game all year was against San Jose State and who had to use a trick play in OT to beat a 2 loss team ranked #7 play for the title.
The BCS got it right this year, a playoff would be nice, but then again, the regular season would not be as meaningful.

Michigan, plays a bunch of scrubs and Ohio State every year. The Big 10 is weak. the SEC is the most competetive conference. Yes, they have weak teams, but come on! Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU...all ranked! The national championship should be PAC-10 vs. SEC.
Michigan is in the Big 10. the Big East is West Virginia, Rutgers, and Louisville.

As mentioned before, Michigan is not in the Big East, you sure know a lot about college football!
If you mean the Big 10 is weak, I would point you to the fact that in the bowls the Big 10 is 2-0 (soon to be 3-0) against the "tough" SEC.

I think the WAC is probably more competitive than the Big 10 right now. East side schools are losing dominance as more and more west side schools are able to recruit and keep the local talent, as well as recruit from the midwest and south...
You think JD Booty from Shreveport would have been playing for USC if this was 5 years ago? Hell no, he'd be a Tiger :) Its a different world in college ball, now. A world that needs a playoff.
edit: I think the asker meant "big east" as in "big teams from the East" as opposed to "teams from the Big East conference" :P
