The way he can pick apart different defensive schemes and his audibles are amazing. I know Im young but when you compare his stats to other legends Manning can hold his own. I know there are going to be some people who only believe that great players win superbowls but I dont care. I think he will be the best QB ever if the can play for at least 5 more seasons even if the doesn't get to win a superbowl.

no, no, no, no, no, and no. Peyton Manning will never be "the greatest QB to ever play the game". ever. even if he did break all the records i still would not believe him to be anywhere near the greatest. while his stats may seem outstanding to you right now, you have not taken into consideration the other factors, witch are the TEAM that surrounds him. without the outstanding line, and receivers he has he would be nothing. if you took him and put him with lets say green bay for example he would struggle to win a single game. Brett favre (arguably ONE of the many true greatest) took them 8-8. if you put favre with peytons team the would have won the super bowl a good 3 times.back to peyton, i do not like him a single bit, when i watch him play all i see is a Winny stuck up little *****. besides statistics and records don't mean anything , look at it this way, favre is 5 TD passes away from most career TD passes, on the other side of that he is 4 away from most interceptions, pretty funny he may hold both huh? oh and manning will (hopefully) never beat a single favre record. so in conclusion peyton manning will never be anything more than "that QB that the colts used to have"

those projections of yours aren't realistic in the least. he'll be lucky to retire with as many rings as Tom Brady has now (3), but most likely he'll retire with one. he may be the best regular season QB to ever play, but regular season is it. he does not perform well when it really matters, in the playoffs. he's 7-8 in the playoffs, and in 2006 when the Colts did win the SB he threw only 3 TDs compared to 7 INTs during the playoffs so he was hardly good. also as for his stats, which are not the end all be all and can be deceiving, remember he plays in a dome which will inflate his stats as he doesn't have to deal with weather. put Brady on the Colts and he'd put up similar numbers. also, 4-5 SBs is out of the question because dome QBs historically do not fare well come playoff time. also because Joe Montana, often considered the best ever, is one of only two QBs to win 4 SBs. on top of all that Manning is playing in a time when the passing game has taken off because the NFL won't allow DBs to play physical anymore, thanks to the "Ty Law rule" which was made because of Manning whining. 5-7 MVPs, not gonna happen. this season there are several viable contenders for NFL MVP, and Manning is getting to the age where you can expect him to start slowing down in the next couple years. the Colts defense can no longer be blamed for Manning not having more SBs. the Colts have had one of the top defenses the last 4-5 years, and he's still only managed one. look at their playoff losses, the Colts offense averages only about 13 pts/game so it's Manning and co. that are coming up short. so no, he certainly will not have 4-5 rings as you projected. i want a QB that plays his best when the game matters most. even back in college, Manning was not that guy. that's what separates Joe Montana or Tom Brady from him. if he and Brady retired right now, then Brady would be considered the better QB. he is better when it matters most, and he (Brady) has the best TD:INT ration in NFL history. Manning will go down as one of the best ever, but not the best ever.

He may end up as the greatest ever to not win a superbowl. He's a great QB, but the way things are going, the Colts are going downhill, it's entirely possible that he won't win one. No QB will ever be thought of as the "best ever" without a superbowl win, it just won't happen.

Well, his career isn't over yet, so I'm not sure. I think he's a lock for top 10, maybe even top 5. But Farve and Marino have the records, Elway and Young and Montana have the rings, and even after that, Staubach and Namath have the respect. And that doesnt even count qb's who played in 2 leagues, like Doug Flutie and Warren Moon. So we'll see what happens when he retires, but he's on the right track.

He will be b/c he works harder than any QB out there. That man spends more time watching film than he does sleeping. He is a student of the game and strives for protection. And last time I checked the O-Line is not the best out there (or else why do they not lead the league in rushing or at least close to the top) and Marvin Harrison is not one of the top 10 receivers, although P. Manning makes him look that way.

No. He will be like Marino hold many records but have no rings. Otto Graham, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw to name but a few. Whilst I know none of these players like Manning can win it on there own it is arguable that Manning has more overall talent around him than any of the QB's that I have named.

No I don't. Right now he has to pass so many others including those with Super Bowl rings of which Montana, Brett, Elway(I don't like him but he should be mentioned). Yet let's not forget Danny Marino who does not have a ring (darn) but is one of the best. Peyton will more than likely make it into the HoF but I don't see him being the "Best Ever".

Only statistically Peyton Manning will be considered great. The quarterback spot also requires leadership. Tom Brady has this and can prove it with his super bowl rings. Overall I like Peyton Manning and is fun to watch.

If he were a good QB, or a smart one at least, he would hold out on his contract and trade to a team that actually has a chance at winning a Super Bowl (or even getting there).

He definitely will be one of the greatest at the end of his career. He is my favorite player of all time and I hope he wins a Super Bowl before his career is over. He deserves it.
