Your chkdsk is probably still there... click on Start, then Search, then All Files and Folders and enter chkdsk.exe. Click Search. It will probably find it in C:/Windows/System32. Your problem is probably with Defrag and will take some doing to get straightened out.

the best and easiest way is to get your original XP CD and find chkdsk on it. Do a search for the file and you should be able to find it. Not sure which folder it should be in... the folder it's in on a CD should give you an idea on where to put it... good luck.

it doesnt look like its gone, it looks like its simply waiting until your next reboot to run a scan before booting to windows...

you have rebooted the machine havent you ?

and dont use that prog, it sucks - just use registry 1st aid and dont delete things youre not sure about (little late on that , huh ?!)

all else fails you need to insert your XP CD and have it restore systems files - a sometimes lengthy process, but it works....most of the time (nothing w/ Micro$oft works all of the time)

or you can simply roll back your system using system restore (that is if your system doesnt runa scan on your next reboot

a couple of things to check - but I dont see any evidence suggesting you deleted that command
