... 58, 121, 248, 503, 1014, 2037...

The difference between terms is 3, 7, 15, 31, 63, etc. These are all one less than a power of 2 (4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc.)

58. I agree with Puzzling (and who wouldn't, he's level 6 and his face looks like a Rubic's Cube =)

The rule seems to be that the ith term is the previous term doubled, plus i-1. That is 5 = 2*2+1, 12 = 2*5 + 2, 27 = 2*12 + 3, and 58 = 2*27 + 4. Or, if you prefer a closed formula, the ith term is equal to 2^(i+1) - (i+1), for example, the 5th term is 2^(5+1) - (5+1) = 64 - 6 = 58.

the number will be 54 as in
2,5,12,27,.....
5-2=3
12-5=7
27-12=15
---------------
difference of the differences,
7-3=4
15-7=8
therefore next no. will be with a difference 12.
so, the next difference between the differences of the nos. of the series will be 12+15=27
the last given no. of the series is 27
so,27+27=54

2*27+4 = 58

To get the next term you multiply by 2 and add 1, then 2, then 3, etc..

So the next term will be 2*58+5=121 etc...

Have reported him.

you double the number then add 1, 2, 3, etc.

2, 2(2) + 1 = 5, 5(2) + 2= 12, 12(2) + 3=27, etc.
