Do you have a laptop or a desktop? Normally on desktops, there is a tiny little hole that you can push a needle or a pin in, this hole will allow you to open up the drive manually. Try to see if there is a small hole there or on the laptop. My desktop has it but my laptop doesn't.

I hope this helps...

If this is for your computer...I had the same problem so this is what I did
Click on Start
Then On MY COMPUTER
on that menu you should see the different drives and such...
example you might have like:
CD Drive D: or
CD Drive E: or like me I have both...
okay anyway Right Click on the first one on that menu you should see that there is an option "eject" click that....
it should open your drive...

Try both if you have both...hope this helps.. :-)
Good Luck!

Its either dead or is being being accessed excusively by some software. Try rebooting. If it still locks try it in different computer. If it still locks it is probably dead.
