I live in an apartment building with security doors which is great but the only problem is there isn't a doorbell or buzzer for my guests or deliveries (be it packages or pizza) to ring to let me know they are here and they can't get into the door without a key. Does anyone know if there are any laws about this? I live in Wisconsin and any help would be greatly appreciated!

If not, you can get a wireless buzzer for about $18.00 from Ace hardware but then, it can get stolen. Check with your county court house and the building codes section.

I live in an apartment in Va, also had one in De that was the same way. Both of them offer buzzers to the front door IF you keep a home phone. When someone is at the door for you, they can look up your name and call you on that line. I'm pretty sure that's how most of the newer systems work, so I bet if you talk to your leasing office that'll be the answer.

Geez, that's kinda whacked... I live in an apartment complex in California, and I have a garage door opener AND a key to get in the door in the front of the building. There is also a buzzer for every apartment right outside that door. Seems kinda strange that you don't have one of these. How do you get anything delivered at all????

Talk to your landlord about it.

In New York the land lord must supply a buzzer if there is more than 6 apartments in the building.
