It is a long story, but my car and credit cards were stolen by this girl and my account is frozen til investigation. (no prob. they will restore) in the meantime I have no money and today i got hungry and i went down to the little store and a stole a small lunchmeat. I have been living with no money since this happened on Dec. 8. and now gas is out of car and food is gone. when she stole my car, no way to work, (no Bus that far out) so i got fired. i took my last pay for rent. i will get another job on Jan 26, but in the meantime all resources are gone. No friends or family in this town. my family is not the kind to send money or bring food, they just aren't, and live far. How many people would have done the same? (i looked in the dumpster for a pizza box or something that was not too gross but nothing) there is a food pantry, but remember...no gas in car, no money for bus, and no phone and you need a voucher. I feel guilty. do you think it was real bad? can go confess, and pay later

In all honesty I think stealing is a crime, but in your situation I can understand why you did it and I could never fault you for it. But to offer up some suggestions please call some local Church's a lot of them would be willing to drive you out some care packets to help you until this mess is fixed for you. I am really sorry of the situation you are in and cant imagine how hard of a time you are having. It's not like you stole for enjoyment, But I would suggest that after you on your feet maybe sending a card to the store with cash in you don't need to sign it, but this way its a way of paying for what you took. Good luck to you!!

Can't believe U r not smarter, or resourceful than that! Is there some mental defect? No exuse or reason makes it right. Can't U ask 4 food? - Beg or borrow. - Don't steal! Can U call in 2 work & explain? U may b late but no reason 2 lose a job! Family does not send money food? Have U no friend who will give a ride or lend bike 2 get 2 work?? Does Ur bad reputation precede U?! Go back & pay 4 two. If U have guts tell manager or some 1.

If you do not have any friends or family to help you out then your only option is to be humble and go to a soup kitchen/shelter for food. There are also other organizations such as churches and special foundations that can help you out of your rut. But you have to make the first step and ask for the help. Whether right or wrong from a moral standpoint, you will not be able to get another job if you are in jail for stealing.

If you can get to a store, why can't you get to the food pantry??

I could justify it if you HAD to feed your children. Otherwise, the department of social services will help you with food and cash. You just need to call and they will make arrangements to either pick you up. Or you could go the extra mile and ask for a ride into town....

don't bother confessing.. you did ok. I would have done it. Try the food bank and you can re embursed by unemployment insurance for the time off of work since you were fired
