I want to reformat my laptop. I don't have a restore disc for it. I do have one for my desktop however. Both have the same running system ( Windows XP Home).Can I use the disc from my desktop on my laptop?

Well you probably could, but i wouldnt because it could be a risk. I lost my for my computer, so i went onto the website and ordered it for free but like 5 bucks shipping. Got it 4 days later. I would deffinatly suggest that! Hope this helps!

No. A restore disc restores all the drivers and stuff too, and your laptop would have completely different guts inside than the desktop for that to work. It'll do it, but when you reboot you'll get errors galore.

You can but it will ask you for the Product Key and it probably won't go through...I tried it with my laptop too but it wouldn't take the key...The 30 Day thing will just show up at the bottom and you might have to reformat it again...so good luck to you..who knows maybe it will work..

U can try yet i've got confidence they have a id stuff on the CD meaning if the CD detects that the device isn't a Toshiba it wun set up yet no harm attempting do only it If u truly can not only borrow a actual domicile windows CD from somebody to place in then enter 12 months Toshiba CD keys

technically there is no problem, but there could be legal issues. Probably your cd comes with a license for one computer installation only
