some people say queens is long island..then how come its not called long island..like long island is called long island. if it is not a part of long island..why do people say it is

Yes - Queens and Brooklyn for that matter are both part of Long Island. However, both boroughs are incorporated into the City of New York and our separate counties to themselves and not part of the other two counties on Long Island. I hope this helps.

Bayside is part of Queens and Queens is on Long Island. There are 4 counties on Long Island: Brooklyn Queens Nassau Suffolk Of course, Brooklyn and Queens also are part of New York City.

Queens is on the far western end of Long Island and is only a part, not the whole.
Long Island is comprised of 4 counties; Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk.
