what you need is a router. So the computers will share the same Internet. you can do this wireless also. Your local electronics store can point you in the right direction.

To share an internet connection, buy a router at a tech store, but RadioShack always sucks so don't buy from them.
If you buy a router though..read my story below.
------
I use to have AOL, and every month(literally) or even less then that my Linksys router would always loose connection, and I ended up spending about $300-$450 on fixing the router. It was SO stressful! It kept breaking for 1-2 years!! So anyway, one day my brother got booted off AOL for 6 months which meant the whole family couldn't go on it for 6 months. We were so mad! He didn't even do anything that bad! BUT, it ended up being a good thing because ever since we got Earthlink our Linksys router has only lost connection about once and it was a few months ago! So I thought it was the router that sucked, but it was really just AOL!
So basically, what I'm trying to tell you is, buy a Wireless-G Linksys router(the kind I have)..they are great, but NOT if you have AOL.
If you loose connection... visit my website I made at http://www.freewebs.com/linksyshelp
Good Luck!
,Phil

get a wireless router. Make sure both computers have internal wireless card, if not you need to get a wirless card. The new computer will most likely have one. How old is the other one? If it is only a couple of years old it probably has one too. If not the cards are about 25.00 you can get a router for about 30.00.

A thing called a router, they start at $50, and up to $200. You will need two CAT 5 cables, prices vary depending on lenght (like six foot long), measure how far your other computer will be away. You can find this stuff even in Walmart, or Citycity. Chow

A router is the best way to go. If you have a laptop buy a wireless router. I've used Linksys routers for the past couple years and have had no problems.
