both groups of deaths have been tragic and avoidable, not to mention all the families torn apart because of the deaths in the family - kids without parents, brothers and sisters gone, etc.

I wonder why there was so little news coverage of dead Iraqi children when Saddam gassed the Kurds.
Or where the coverage was concerning the executions and mass graves.
The coverage now is because we are directly involved and somehow responsible for the continuing violence. Perhaps a little, just a small amount, of the blame could be....maybe....the terrorists?
Welcome to the "unbiased and straight scoop" coming to you live from your media moguls.

Since you watched CNN and Fox, did you watch the part where the US Soldier placed himself between "bullets flying and a child'?..but I guess to you and many others that does not matter. Taking "pot-shots" at the US troops is what matters to you.
By the way when a bomb falls, it does not only kill children, but when the Sunnis and Shia's shoot/torture/behead/rape and mame each other, they make sure they include the children.

I feel equally bad about both, but lets not forget there is children in Iraq that has been brainwashed into hating Americans. You also have to keep in mind that our soldiers aren't killing the children, but it is the cowards that plant themselves with bombs and going into a crowded area and blowing innocent lives including children.

Both should be discussed in the proper context. The vast majority of Iraqi children killed are murdered by the same terrorists who are killing the American soldiers who are trying to keep the muslim terrorists from murdering Iraqis.
Every time you hear that an American soldier has been killed in Iraq, remember that he, or she, died fighting against the people who murder Iraqi children with bombs they plant anywhere they think there will be a crowd, not caring who gets killed.

It depends on what country you live. I'm sure in Iraq they mention the deaths of Iraq children and do not mention the American soldiers.

Actually, as a CNN addict I can say that they do talk all the time about civilian deaths in Iraq.
And who killed those people? For the most part they are killing each other. I think we should leave and let them figure it out. Some people can't get out of their own way. War sucks. But Saddam was killing thousands of his own people. We are still criticized for not stopping Hitler earlier. We can't win.
It gets worse before it gets better but it would sure help if they stopped all their stupid in fighting and put the energy into opening some businesses.

Sorry, but I don't balnce & weigh the life of one person against the other, not unless my hand is forced. The death of a fellow soldier hurts as much as the death of an innocent child.
Both are worthy of respect, and consideration.

Negative news sells. very sad.
And you know when these little children will come into the limelight - - it's even sadder... It will be when new goverment takes it's seat - removes the troops and there will not be any soldier there to help defend them.

americans are sympathetic people... they rally in streets because a deer became road kill... if it ever got out to the people that iraqi children are being killed... they'd be holding the president hostage....
children are the main victims of war... hunger, disease, death and some even get sold or kidnapped to be sex workers... honey, i read this in Time mag... it happened in Asia... not too far fetched if iraqi kids are being taken away to be sold as sex workers in some foreign country...
at this moment i'd like to say.... TAKE TO THE STREETS... SHOUT AND FIGHT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS!! i would if i was in US soil...
