I've seen both; they are easy to find online.
The official video ended before the actual hanging, and had no audio so you couldn't hear what was being said. (It was in Arabic anyway.)
The "leaked" video shows the the hanging and immediately afterward, and you could hear what was said.
There was no "brutality" unless you count the hanging itself, which was very fast and caused instant death. There were some taunts and insults between the witnesses and guards and Saddam as well as somebody asking the people to be quiet. After he died, there were some triumphant exclamations on the part of the witnesses. It was not as quiet as I would have liked, but otherwise orderly. Saddam was an exceptionally evil human being, and I find it hard to condemn the witnesses for their remarks.
I do think it was necessary for Saddam's death to be witnessed by the world, because of who he was and what he had done. I don't think this would be right in ordinary death penalty cases.

Yes, Ive seen it, the leaked footage does show him hanging, an image I will probably never forget, if you want to see it you can probably find a link to it somewhere, be warned though it is not pretty. The media footage, what they are showing on the news, only shows saddam standing before he is hung, it doesnt show anything else.

I saw the leaked version and the other. The masked hangmen were talking to Saddam but there was no sound I was aware of. Plus I do not understand their language. Do not know if they were taunting him. Then I saw his body drop through the trap door. But did not see him reach the end of the rope. I did not think it was brutal. The man Saddam was a brute himself. He seemed sort of spacey, not much emotion on his face.I am adding this. Hate to give false ideas. Went back and re looked. There was a lot of talking. I guess I* ignored it at first. Sounds like they were taunting him. And I did see his face after he hit the end of the rope. But to me, He was their prisoner. It was their culture. let them do it as they want. Sorry for being unfacytual at first.

You are true the leaked footage by a cell phone shows a different version, Saddam is being taunted throughout to his way to the gallows by many people whose voices are being clearly heard on the video
