I recomend putting a ice cube on a blemish to make it less red and then putting a tinted moisturizer on top. It will moisturize the skin and its light and not noticible.

You can go to a drug store, or most grocery stores, and look in the make-up department. There are lots of concealers that are tinted to match different skin colors.
Covergirl makes medicated concealer, although it has a "medicine" odor which is pretty strong. The CoverGirl Invisible concealer is good, but make sure you get the right shade.

Neutrogena Skinclearing Concealer Oil Free Correcting Green
Trust me, this works. And it doesn't look like you have green stuff on your face. Green neutralises the red so it should tone down blemish prone skin.

Sometimes you can use items in your medicine cabinet to reduce redness/swelling prior to applying spackle. :-)
I apply Visine eye drops with a Q-tip to a red pimple before I go to sleep. Sometimes a ground-up aspirin mixed with water can make a paste to help dry up a zit overnight, too. (Aspirin has salicylic acid, which is in many acne medications.)
The concealer depends on your skin type. I use the creamy kind (Clinique or Revlon) applied with a tiny brush to just the red areas, followed by a light dusting of powder to set the concealer. A yellowish tint helps counteract redness.

well instead of covering them up...try using honey. Honey is completely sterile, and bacteria can't grow in the presence of it...so put the (pure) honey on the blemish, and cover it up with a bandaid, and let it sit over night. depending on how bad the blemish is, it might take awhile for it to disapear but believe me it's worth it. isn't that fascinating??? you can find all kinds of natural remedies for just about everything.

Hey... the best, is a tinted moisturizer that blends in blemishes and gives your skin a healthy glow...instantly. Neutragena makes one...get it at Wal-mart (I personally like that one), there are others, and some are more pricey. =o)
