First of all MTV stands for music television, well, what happened to the music? Secondly, the programming is pathetic. Next, Room Raiders, Parental Control, Date My Mom; the people act like idiots on all of these shows. As I young adult, I find it very degrading to imply that we all act like idiots that can't carry on an intelligent conversation.

Anymore, it's not very good - definitely not as good as it used to be. I remember when I was little, I'd stay all night with my cousins on the weekend, and we'd stay up and watch our favorite videos, and couldn't wait to see the new ones coming out. Music Television? Yeah right - maybe if you count the music playing in the background on all the reality shows.

I actually remember when you could turn on MTV and actually see *gasp* MUSIC!! Now the only way you see music on MTV is if you happen to be awake a 5 in the morning and catch the hour of music before all of the crap comes on.
What makes it even worse is the fact that they developed MTV2 in an effort to actually show some MUSIC, but now you have to go on the hunt for music on that channel too!

I agree. MTV started standing for Music Television. Nowadays there is rarely any music as the hours are mostly filled with tv shows, including tons of reality television. It reminds me of the old song by Dire Straits that said "I want my MTV" :)

MTV is C.R.A.P.

I think putting on the Live Aid event in the early '80's went to their heads, and they think they can do no wrong with anything they produce. I haven't watched more than a few minutes at a time since the early '90's.

Ah, yes, 'Manipulating Teenage Views', as it is sometimes called. The videos were good, for the most part. Then they came up with all these nonsensical shows that demean people and insult the intellect. I feel noticeably dumber after watching it. Yes, I can't stand it.
