I was the Speedo Swimwear salesman for 5 states for 8 years. And believe it or not - the tiny little competitive swimsuit that most people associate with Speedo, is a tiny part of their business.
But - like a Kleenex is associated with tissue - Speedo is associated with the form fitting Lycra swim brief.
The acceptance of the suit at the beach or a public pool is a cultural thing. 30 - 40 years ago, the suit was very common. But, then again, so was chest hair.

I personally don;t have a problem with speedo swim wear...its the mens bikini briefs that get hidden by the bellys or display too much of a package that you just don't need to display that I have problems with;)

Are you referring to looking at someone wearing them or the swim wear staying on?
I have no problem seeing a man in them if he has a good body and packed.

Cause they're wimps and they can't handle the anatomy of others. I have no problem with it since I see guys in Speedos like everyday........... You just have to get used to it.

commetitive swimmers always look like they belong in them; but overweight men look gross in them. I took a group of teens white water rafting one time with some adults and on older gentleman wore a speedo. No teens were in his raft. I wonder why?

It's not usually the speedo's ... problem comes from the body in them ... personally I thnk its very european/sexy (on the right bod of course) not that I'd want my guy being out in public and being checked out in one ...

Because a lot of the men that wear them are pretty darn gross... nobody complains about the olympic swimmers wearing them, but they don't have big hairy nasty butts and nutts sticking out of the suit.

they make other good things...it's just that people associate the name Speedo with those little brief-swimsuit things they make. those are horrible.
