Will my internet bill double? I've seen people using a laptop without plugging in and then some have to. What's the difference?

Your Internet bill will not double, you pay for the bandwith not the number of computers connected. On the other note, practically all of the new laptop computers come with a wireless network adapter. This adapter uses radio waves to communicate with an access point to communicate with the Internet. All laptop computers should have a wired connection which can also be used. Older computers do not have these wireless adapters.

You can split your signal with a router. Most new laptops have a built in wireless card, that will allow access to the router.
In short, just buy a laptop with wireless and get a router (50 bucks).

Most ISPs charge a flat fee per month, so your bill will stay the same. The only reason your ISP bills would increase would be if your ISP charged per unit of data transferred -- but I don't know of any ISP that does this.
