Yes, taking too much Alka-Seltzer can be very bad for you. Basically, it consists of acetaminophen (which is hard on your liver), sodium bicarbonate (which can raise your blood pressure and stresses out your kidneys), and citric acid.

Acetaminophen [Tylenol, etc.] impairs renal function by depleting
glutathione, leading to renal endothelial dysfunction. Clinicians commonly do NOT understand that acetaminophen is NOT safe, and causes significant hypertension.
