Biff is not correct, Java base chat is now dead per Yahoo. Your company is taking the right countermeasures and safeguards to increase productivity. If it is a work requirement they may have some Intranet chat client that your company allows for work usage. Other then that you are at the fate of the Network Security folks at your company. If they know a lot about security the only chatting you will be doing is at home. I could mention downloading rogue chat clients but your company probably does not give regular users the ability to download via group policy settings. I know I won't get best answer but I am being honest with you on not being able to get around this without admin rights, so don't read too much garbage on future posts.

Have you tried using yahoo web messenger? Try that. But if they track your usage you going to get caught anyway.

What a boring company. Yes there are web messengers which you can use to login to all your messengers IDs.

Use: http://www.ebuddy.com/?web_messenger
