This is for anyone who is currently or on their way to being a performer. What is your training/background? Advice to future performer-wannabes? What kind of training do you need? Where are the best places for this training? Basically, what does it take to be a music perfomer?

Well, not everyone makes it the same way. I don't plan on being a performer; I'm more interested in the business side of the music industry (management, A&R, publishing, etc.)

There are a few things you need.
1. Talent! If you have REAL talent, that'll put you past about 80% of what's out right now! Yet, I guess being remotely talented works, too.
2. Personality. This will take you far in any industry.
3. How to network. Meet people that kno people that know people that know P. Diddy's hairstyler. Don't underestimate anyone... whether they're a big-time producer or they own a drum shop, they may be able to help yo (or know someone that can).
4. Know your business. Know what you're up against. Know what the next steps are. Know what could possibly go wrong.
5. Faith. This probably should've been first. The music industry is evil, hence Houston trying to commit suicide by putting his eye out. It may take years for anything to happen, but you must be persistent and have faith!

i do not recognize you so this received't note, yet i imagine you should bypass for music preparation. not basically will you be passing your present on to others, yet you'll nonetheless manage to do what you adore. also, basically because you'd be coaching does not propose you would possibly want to give up appearing. each and every music instructor I actually have ever had nonetheless actively participates in community music performances like musicals and the city orchestra.

Oh, and if thats your only goal, money an fame, just stop now, you have to love it, and you will unfortunately have to live it!!!! If you love it and live it, and aren't motivated by money and fame, you'll actually get something out of it worth having, otherwise its prob gonna be a headache and dissappointment
