PS3's are region free for games so you can play any game from around the world ;-)

As far as i understand it the PS3 like the PSP before it isn't region encoded for it's games!

This means yes you can play games from anywhere in the world as long as they are PS3 games, it is still region coded for the PS1, PS2, DVD and Blue ray video disks, but the games and region free, which is great!

jap PS3 does not help American/Canadian/ecu PS1/PS2 game discs... comparable with US PS3, it does not help jap/Asian PS1/PS2 game discs... the two could nevertheless stick to common DVD region codes from their previous iterations (PS1/PS2) even if, the two variations proportion the comparable region for Blu-ray video games and movies... so as which potential a jap PS3 could play US Blu-ray video games and movies, and a US PS3 could play jap/Asian... yet, in case you could acquire a US one, do get it because of the fact jap gadgets have censorship undertaking (e.g. specific video games does not have blood consequences, etc.)
