Sulphur bombs and Green light mole and gopher killer (poison) is what works for us.

We used to have a cat that hunted moles--she was worth her weight in diamonds!

People will offer lots of advice, unfortunatly it is mostly wrong.

Grubs is a common misconception and buying grub killer will waste your money and do nothing for MOLES. Most moles diets are 90-95% Earth worms. If they come across a grub, they will certainly eat it, but it is not the main source of there diet.
Moles are tricking. No gimmicks work. If anyone tells you differently, it was by luck or coincidence. Sonic chasers, grain pellets, all the advice from your neighbor doesnt work.

What does is time, scouting , the right way. You need to find the active tunnels. Usually they are the ones running along a sidewalk or driveway or running parallel to a house. If your not certain, take a small hand spade and open up a small hole in the tunnel.Mark the area, and do it all around the yard. come back 24-48 hours, the holes that are repaired are active tunnels.

Now you have the active tunnels , and these are the ones to concentrate on. Moles traps can work, but most dont use them right. You need more than one. maybe 5-6.

Put them in front of the repaired areas and set them. It is a good idea to actually sterilize them with hot steam, or water and wear rubber gloves when setting them. Moles dont see well , and have a keen sense of smell. If they smell human scent, they may not go through.

more than likely there are more than 1, so if you catch 1 or 2 , reset the traps and put them back.

There are professionall products like Talpirid, and it is a rubber ish earth worm with an actice ingredient on it. Instead of a trap near the repaired holes, you insert a worm. You can always check to see if you still have active moles by opening a small hole in the tunnel. Moles are neat little creatures and will always repair it if they come across it.

Hope it helps and for the others posted above, save your grub dollars and use them for grubs.... (which also has a lot of myths and wasted money)

Cats that catch moles are worth their weight in gold. Other methods include the small kit foxes and Herons.

At Chino I watched the white crane like birds known as herons wait patiently at the mole holes for the moles to appear. Watering or plugging up the entrance holes before a storm, may result in killing some moles.

However if you do decide to try to stop the moles, you also need the cooperation of the neighborhood. If there is a vast field of moles nextdoor all the moles you kill will just give the neighboring moles a new area to colonize.

We had a very bad mole problem for several years before and several years after the emergence of 17 year cicada. There is nothing to be done if that is the case - way too much food is underground and if you kill them all on your property, more will migrate into the empty tunnels.

If they suddenly appeared and everybody has them, that is likely the cause. Sorry for you.

well we always just use mouse traps with chunky peanut butter on them, you would want to jam one of the nuts into the trigger so they have to work at the trigger to get that last little stuck nut. this is the only solution that we have ever found efective.
