I went to get them done and when I got there, she chopped my original nails down to the edges where the skin meets the nails. Then used a drill and drilled them with a sandpaper bit on the end of the drill. Afterwards she glued the acrylic nail2the tips of my nails Then she got out a little bottle with pinkish purple fluid in it and a powder. She dipped the paintbrush that she used into the pinkpurple liquid into the powder and applied layers of it to the thin acrylic nail building it to a thick fake nail. Afterwards, she painted them with a hot pink with white stars and glitter. I got home and was reading on these nails and hear all negative on them and see why and I am scared and frightened that my nails are going 2 be bad enough 2 hide with ugly fungus ridges and maybe no original nail at all. I took off the polish and tried to soak them for 5-10 minutes in polish remover since it got alot of acetone.Do I Wait2C they fall off in 2 weeks or if they dont, pay the nail tech2remove them

Just Hold on.....First I have been getting my nails done (acrylic) for 10 years and Ive never had any problems. I just take them off about every three months and let them be for about 2 weeks and then get them back on. But if your really scared then I would suggest going and having them take them off, its faster and doesnt hurt as much. But you really dont have anything to worry about!

You can pay to have them removed, or you can soak them in acetone for awhile and then pull them off. It hurts to do it that way though, and you risk tearing your real nail in the process. If you really want them removed, have the nail technician remove them.
Are you worried about them hurting your real nails? The only side effect I've ever had from fake nails is that after I take them off, my real nails are very thin and flexible for a couple of hours and then they harden back again. Good Luck!

I've been getting acrylics for years. (1) I rub oil onto my nails a few days a week, because a manicurist told me that it will soak down to the nail and keep it healthy. (2) Get your nails done regularly to avoid getting anything trapped in them that'll cause an infection. (3) have them removed every now and then (I do it after 12 mo) and let your natural nails breath for a few months.

If you really want to remove them, go back and have them do it. It's much easier and faster.
