The timing and openness of primaries vary from one state to another. Not all states even have primaries -- some states hold "caucuses" which are much more time-consuming affairs than an election and are much more likely to be closed to only party members.

So, we'd have to know which state you are in before we can tell you about the presidential primary of your state.
