Only buy a few things that are 000 if you are expecting a "normal" sized bub. Singlets you can get away with 00 and they will last for ages, my daughter is 2 and still fits into Bonds 00. They grow so quick that they will be out of 000 very quickly. People also like to give clothes as gifts so you may be inundated with 000 stuff. 6-8 items of 000 should do as long as you keep up the washing. My bubs were 7,8 and 7 pounds and never fitted into 0000. A few sleepsuits and singlets is all they need straight away. And some bibs or cloth nappies for the inevitable chuck up. Remember it's not a fashion parade for bubby so don't go overboard. All the best and well done in advance.

yeah, never heard of 000, 00 or 0 either...I would start with 3-6 month clothes before the baby is born. If your baby is small buy a few 0-3 month outfits, but don't overdo it. The baby won't need too much more than t-shirts for the first few months.

If the Dr. said you were gonna have a really big baby like 10 pounds then you start with maybe 3 to 6 months size. But if your baby's gonna be a normal size from 6to7 pounds then new born is what you want. And it depends on what time a year on what you bye as well. You should look for a baby and children's resale store you can find lots of nice things to start off and add as you go with some knew things as well. Don't worry so much just have a little fun with it.

you will want to buy preemie clothes for the first few weeks most newborns dont even fit into 0/3 months. And have on hand plenty of 0/3 month outfits and jammies because this is what they grow into next then it will be 3/6 month then 6/9 month and way before this you will already know this. happy shopping. oh, by the way most clothing labeled newborn is 0/3, so still buy a few preemie items so baby looks reeeeaaaalllll good.

An average baby can weigh between 6-8 lbs. I would buy 0-3 months...but they will grow out of it really quickly!!! you should also buy 3-6 months sizes too!! If you are not sure, ask someone in the baby section...they can show you the sizes you need to get!!

my daughter was 7 lbs and 11 ounces and 21 inches-- which is a very healthy size... she was still wearing premie clothes when she was 9lbs.... words of advice.. get one premie sized sleeper just incase the newborn size or the 0-3 month sizes are too big... becuase chances are-- unless you have gestational diabetes and have a big baby or just a good old fashioned BIG baby-- it will be small enough for a premie or a newborn sized outfit in the first few days to weeks after it is born.
good luck!

Get 3- 6 outfits in the really small size, and the rest in the next size up. They are kinda squished for the first couple weeks, but they grow like crazy after that. It's always better to have a bit big so they canwaer it longer!

Newborn baby size is generally 0000, so start there. Dont get to much cause babies grow so quickly and will be in 000 before they have time to wear every outfit in size 0000.
Congrats on your new baby and good luck.
