If you've ever had multiple miscarriages, were you finally able to get pregnant and carry the baby to term? I know some miscarriages are unexplainable but were you lucky enough, to pin point the problem?

A friend of mine had 5 miscarriages in 2 years. She saw a fertility specialist, who told her that her uterus was shaped like a bell. Basically upside down from what most women have. And he sewed her cervex shut until the baby was large enough to stay put. She has to do this everytime she gets pregnant but she now has 3 healthy children.

I recommend finding a doctor willing to take the time to find out what it is that causes this problem for you and working out a plan to avoid the same problems.

Good luck. I wish you the best.

I had 3 miscarriages in my early 20's, all of which were never explained. The first two happened at 8-11 weeks, the last one happened at 19 weeks and I had to go through 12 hours of labour. Then for 8 years, I was not able to get pregnant, then in Sept 2005, I woke up to heavy bleeding, which was so bad my husband called an ambulance. At the hospital, I found out I was pregnant (which after 8 years of infertility was a HUGE surprise to us) we all assumed I was miscarrying again, but when they gave me an ultrasound, we seen the heart pumping strong. I was 10 1/2 weeks along. Two weeks later, I had severly heavy bleeding again, so back to the hospital we went, only to be told the baby's fine (they took another ultrasound). I was put on bed rest for 5 months...until I was about 32 weeks pregnant. I never truly believed I was going to deliver a baby because of the miscarriages in the past. When he was born this past June, I was so amazed that I carried him the entire pregnancy, and that he was completly healthy. Dont give up hope.....

Definite it occurs all the time. However, seeing that you will have had 4 in a row- have you had some testing to determine why this has occurred? Many miscarriages happen and nothing can also be executed, however every so often the mother might have a genetic situation that makes it more likely. There are lots of conditions and many of those can be helped with medications. So contact your doctor if you have not been verified already. Take care

Are you asking this question because you or someone you know has had multiple miscarriages? If so then I suggest you or your friend get their thryiods tested.

I have hypothryiodism and was told that if I do become pregnant there is a very high chance that I will miscarry.

But I personally believe that woman miscarry mulitple times is not just unexplainable. You are or friend should get a second opinion.

I have had multiple miscarriages that are unexplained, even though we have had every test under the sun. We still don't have a baby after 2 years of trying.

I have had 3 pregnancies and 2 miscarriages, because my blood type is O - and therefore my body recognizes a baby as a disease and kills it off. I hope to have more children, but it's doubtful I will carry one for more than 12 weeks.

I had I think six miscarriages in under a year, but am now 24 weeks along with my third baby. I have to tell you how scary it is to be pregnant after all that, but keep trying.

Get lots of 2nd opinions. I have had friends who had a misshaped cervex, totally fixably, and one gal I know was lucky enough to have a dr. who examined the placenta of her miscarriage, only to find that she was creating blood clots in the placenta. SHe is on blood thinners now, and 20+ weeks along. We're praying for her!
