Since the only option for gays according to strict Christians is for them to be celibate, can you honestly say that you would not think it strange or honestly say you wouldn't make fun of them if they were 50 years old and a virgin? What other option do you give them? Be honest. I'm sick of these hypocritical people who wouldn't be willing to be celibate themselves had they also had no choice in their sexual orientation. Seems like you can dish it out, but you can't take it.

Okay..people, those ignorant people who say, "what kind of moronic question is this?" obviously DOES NOT GET IT AT ALL...how do you CHOOSE NOT to be homosexual..that is the most impossible question I've ever heard...it makes no sense and you really don't understand anything about homosexuality...for starters, you need to understand you have no choice in the matter. Believe me, I know, I'm gay. How can YOU know, you're straight. Get with the program, man. That's like me answering a difficult question like, "What's the meaning of life?" with "that's easy, choose not to be blue eyed.." okay..makes perfect sense..!?!?

I think the whole idea of people Christian bashing gays is idiotic! Any sin will send a person to hell. If you think one is greater than the other, you need to read your Bible again. All sins are equal in God's eyes.
So everyone that feels they need to complain, go yell at the murders... us in the GLBT area are small potatoes.

If you love you will realize children are the reason that we are on this earth. People can possess every material toy under the sun and come to the realization that children are the very reason that humanity was endowed with a way to procreate. Even if I had feelings for the same sex, I'd marry the opposite sex for that reason. There's nothing on this earth that I enjoy more than the company of family. Big families and lot's of love means lots of happiness for everyone.
That you see homosexual feelings as "not a choice" is the problem. How do you think alcoholics feel about booze? You don't slap a cop every time he pulls you over because you know the consequence. You have as much control of homosexual urges as you do over the food you eat. It's in how you perceive it is where the problem persists.

(keep in mind that I'm not a Christian but....)
As far as I know this is more the official position of Catholicism over Christianity when it comes to homosexuality but I'm sure there is a denomination of Christianity somewhere who firmly believes the same thing.
I would think that given the basic "love their neighbour", "turn the other cheek" etc that the official position of Christianity regarding homosexuality should be tolerance and understanding.
Even as a kid I couldn't understand why most religions still hate homosexual people given that most already have a large population base of followers and don't absolutely require people to have a million kids to keep their religion alive.
But who am I to stand in the way of tradition ;),
(ack I should really stop my tirades!)
Cheers,

It is unfair of you to assert ... Christians can dish it out but can't take it. A true christian who chooses the religious life by becoming a monk, a brother, a priest or a nun, all renounce sex.
The reason they choose this is to follow Jesus' example by living celibate lives.

Thats totally impossible. No one can go with out sex their entire life. Everybody has a sex drive and needs to use it. I think some people are monogamous and some are the total opposite...and Im not saying it should be heteros monogamous gays sleep around... I think that for so many people who are gay that is what they want to do and may feel like sleeping around is their only option..Its not. Date, find some one to share your life with, just be happy.

Have you actually read the Bible lately? There ARE no "strict Christians". If there were, the prisons would be bulging with "Christians". Ever heard of any stonings lately? The Bible is chock full of them for adultery, disobedient children, blasphemy, etc........... Those "Christians" who condemn homosexuality are picking and choosing those passages which conform to their own desires/prejudices/lifestyles. I have listened to many "Christians" condemn many people.........I have yet to meet one who chooses to forsake material comforts to go forth in the world to tend to the sick and poor.

come one, it's not only for gays, I'm in my mid 40's and a virgin because as christians if you don't find someone who wants to marry you or you want to marry, you aren't supposed to have sex. It's not easy to be celibate whether gay or heterosexual. But it is what the "Bible" teaches. Is it right? who knows anymore.

The discussion between christianity vs gay is rediculous.
A)Jesus loves everyone. (If your a christian)
B)The bible is close to 2000 years old. Stories change, opinions are influenced. Remember broken telephone?
C)For me (and I am a christian), the bible is a guide to society and how we should live. I think the worst "sin" are the ones that inflict pains to other. I believe that is the message in which Jesus was trying to tell us. Being gay inflicts absolutely no harm to others.

A 50 year old virgin is a tremendous achievement! What sicko would make fun of that? This is what every Catholic Priest is supposed to be able to do. And many are successful.
Don't sell them short! As to me, I don't judge homosexuals. I can't. I have my OWN sin issues.

Let me explain some of Ephesians 2. At one time we were strangers and foreigners with no access to the Father through the Spirit and through Christ. Peace was preached to us at some point and time. We who were dead in trespassses and sins, aliens from the commonwealth of Israel with no hope, no covenants of promise and without God in this world. We, like you now do, "walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." until something happened which forever more changed our minds to think right, our hearts to feel right, our bodies to be under subjection and our flesh to be dead to sin. That's the option that Christ gives us all through His blood sacrifice upon Calvary. It's faith, not works, a gift of God and grace, not what we did ourselves.
Christians like the adulterous woman are to go and sin no more. Not repeat the same mistakes and go back to the muck and mire like a hog or like a dog returning to it's vomit.
Mary Magdalene was possessed of devils but became a pure disciple of Christ completely changed. Her options? Fruits of the spirit: peace, joy, hope, love, patience, and hope of eternal life in glory. When you give your all to Christ who gave His all for us, He makes provision to escape temptations so sin will not have dominion over you. His yoke is easy and His burdens light. God didn't create anyone to stay in a sin that He sent His son to die as the price of redeeming our souls to Him so we could be clean and be able to approach the Holy God of this universe in fellowship with Him just like He walked with Adam in the cool of the day. Yes, we dish it out and Yes we can take it if we crucify our self will and our flesh daily. That goes for Christians of all backgrounds of sin and temptation from which they were delivered no matter the age and no matter their marital status or if they are male or female. You can't approach it from a carnal mind which is at enmity against God. God changes it for you when you submit to His will which is ALWAYS best for us since He knows our future and knows and loves our souls more than we even could. The blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin.
