I sell Hot Wheels and McFarlane Figures on Ebay as a hobby, but they don't always sell during dead times like after Christmas or when pay checks are spent. I was wondering if anyone knew of simple items to make or buy that do sell well, but don't involve alot of overhead expenses. My ideas are quickly shot down and I am having a hard time coming up with new ones. I am not looking to get rich quick, just actually make money for the work I do. I am willing to work 10 hours a day at my job, and then come home just to box up Hot Wheels for a couple of hours and then go to the post office to mail them, if anything even sold. Days are long for me now, but I want an easier life for my wife and I later on. Help me out if you can! --Kris B.

Kris,
You sound like a smart guy. Don't allow people to shoot down your your ideas; they are just a bunch of 'johnny rainclouds; if you believe in it and you see it working on an auction site then do it. Stay positive, stay active and the universe will say yes.

Wow.. anything that can be bought, can be sold. I've had my best luck going to yard sales. Ex. bought a nude stainless steel bottle opener.... for .50, sold it on ebay for $6.00. I know of a couple of folks that simply drive their car to yard sales, talk down items as low as the seller will go, they clean up the goodies they buy, take pictures of them and sell the items on eBay. Again, ANYTHING can be used.

Another ex. I used to wait for items to go on close out sales at a JC Penny's Outlet store and buy them in large quantities. I bought ventriloquist dolls at a JC Penny's store for $7.00 and $14.00, and sold them for $45.00 each on eBay. Use your imagination. You'll do well. This is something both you and your wife can do and have fun doing. Hope this helps.

Books, cd's, DVD's, videos, old cassettes. Just look around your house or apt. and get an idea of what you don't want or need that is in okay condition and that other people might want. You might have some souvenirs from vacations you've taken. People collect all sorts of things, you know.

Hope this helps a little.

You need to understand:
arbitrage
price vs demand
price vs supply
economies of scale

Figure out where you stand between manufacturer and consumer. I will tell you one thing that is cheap and will ALWAYS be in demand. BULLETS.
