Cost me $125 for about 30 home movies but I had to shop around. The price was twice as high at one place.

if you have a lot of home movies you might want to invest in a DVD recorder with a vhs deck included. You can record all of your vhs tapes to dvd for the cost of the DVD+R's.

and the dual deck, of course..

but if it's gonna be like $25 per VHS tape, and you have 10+ tapes, buy the recorder.

You should be able to do it by playing the movies and aiming a video camera at it. I did it with a slide show and it worked great. You could pay someone to do it, and it'd be priced depending upon how long the movies are.
