my labor guide shows that it takes 6.2 hours to do the replacement..depending where you live and what the repair shops labor rate is..then you have to add the cost of the heater core, coolant, and shop supplies, and sales tax..and since I have given you the technical hours..don't let whoever does the repair charge more shop time, unless you are notified, but if you have an estimate for less time, that's good..

It'll never work. You have too much expansion and contraction going on between the heating and cooling cycles. Epoxy won't have the "give." Neither will fiberglass. Also, the tubes in the heater core are VERY small. Both of those would clog them up. You have nothing to lose by trying radiator stop leak if the leak is VERY small. Otherwise, there is NO OTHER way to fix this than to replace the heater core. At the same time you might want to think about why it failed. Just about every heater core failure is due to not changing the coolant on time. The additives in the coolant break down and you get corrosion and electrolysis. That eats holes in the heater core.

It usually isn't cost effective to repair a heater core. To replace it, with parts and labor you are looking at a few hundred dollars.

The heater core is not usually very expensive. It's the labor involved, which GREATLY depends on the location of the heater core. If you can do it yourself, that is the best option for you.

I went to several different sites trying to find the cost of a heater core. For your car, the sites I went to stated a price of around $390.00 just for the part. And according to what I've read, they are a pain in the butt to change, having to pull the dash etc.. Hope you know someone that is mechanically inclined, to help (do it for) you.

Is your heater leaking coolant ?? if not you don't need a heater core. Just a thought, I see so much spent on repairs that are not needed.

It can get very costly, cause it is hard to replace the core. From past experience the dash had to be remove to get to the core.

Really depends on whether it needs fixing or replacing or none of the above. And the shop. The corner garage may be cheaper.
