The easiest way is to just delete the Windows folder manually. Any other way, you risk disturbing the other installation.

For example:

WinXP 1 -> c:\WinXP
WinXP 2 -> c:\Windows

Then, you can delete one of those folders. Just make sure you pick the right one.

You can open the c:\boot.ini in Notepad to make sure you are deleting the right one. In this file, it tells you which directory each choice is installed.

does the first one work? if so you can go to start->control panel->system->advanced-> click settings for "startup and recovery" and where it says "time to display operating systems" uncheck that and the computer will automatically boot to the first one in the list.

or you can change it to like 3 seconds (would be a lot safer)
or you can click the edit button right there and delete the second windows from the list in the boot.ini

safest thing to do is just change it to 3 seconds, or else you'll have to do quite a bit more if your computer stops booting because its trying to use the wrong entry in the boot.ini. (you'd have to boot off your xp cd, hit R for the recovery console then type bootcfg /rebuild to rebuild the boot.ini)

mmkay this happened with my windows 98
if you have two hard drives installed, (their on the inside of your computer), (and you can check by clicking on my computer)you might want to get the one hard drive erased at a computer maitanence store like geek squad at best buy. or you can have someone take the other hard drive out for you.
i hope this helped
