I am against the sale of “Cloned Meat”. Additionally, it is even more disturbing that the sale of the “Cloned Meat” will not be disclosed on the final package at grocery stores, or meals provided at restaurants, and school cafeterias. The USA has always favored “Disclosure”, and it is curious that “Disclosure” is not available in this matter provided by a government function, the FDA.

“Mad Cow Dieses” and other unknown factors in the cattle industry are already a challenge. This has provided the Cattleman’s association to trace and identify where the cattle sold for public consumption came from. It appears that the existing system should be able to accommodate the disclosure of “Cloned Meat” for public consumption.

Certainly, there is no long-term research on the human consumption of “Cloned Meat”. The lack of long-term studies on human consumption of “Cloned Meat” leaves me cautious about the foods I consume.

That's' what they are leaning toward. You can go to the FDA website and post comments--I did. Here's where they want to get us--and most Americans do not realize this--cloned animals will not usually be slaughtered for their meat-their off spring will!!! So, I commented and said I wanted labeling for products that were the result of EITHER direct or indirect cloning!

They say there is 'virtually no difference' between the two meats--so guess what? That means there is some difference!!!

If they sell us beef from offspring, technically, it's NOT cloned meat--but I still want to know that to make an informed choice as a consumer. Go comment now!!!

Go to the link, scroll down and post your comments!

The FDA has an information gathering going on about the public's opinion on cloned meat. Make sure your voice is heard.

FDA Issues Draft Documents on the Safety of Animal Clones

FDA is seeking comments from the public on the three documents for the next 90 days. To submit electronic comments on the three documents, visit http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/oc/dockets/comments/commentdocket.cfm?AGENCY=FDA.

Yes - there is no test that can determine that an animal is cloned, so what would be the point of a label? The meat is just meat.

Yes it will. But cloned meat is not worse than the genetically changed meat we've been eating for years without even knowing it.

Yes they are. I do not agree with cloning in any form so I am refraining from non organic meant.

That is what I heard on some news show. I couldn't believe it. I just don't think that is right. I don't want to eat something that was made in a lab.
