My 6 month old daughter has just in the past few days started to get tiny little red dots in the nappy area, (but more close to her genitals) and I dont know what this is? is it nappy rash? I have been applying rash powder to the area but cant see a change and I also try let her play with no nappy on for a bit each day. Does this sound like nappy rash to you or something else?

It sounds like a yeast infection. You can buy the medication for women and just put it on like diaper rash ointment it should clear up in no time.

Small dots that aren't painful sound like yeast.

Go to the pharmacy and get topical yeast cream (for yeast infections or jock itch, it's the same stuff). Ask the pharmacist he will know which one is right. Apply a small amount twice a day. If it isn't getting better in two days see a doctor.

It might be a yeast rash, or it might be a staph infection. My doctor told me that a yeast rash usually shows up in the folds of your baby's skin, I think. I would just take your baby into the doctor and have them look at it. That is the safest way of doing this. That way you know what each different rash is and what it looks like.

sounds like a yeast infection and it will get worse not better if not treated. Get some yeast infection cream and use it a couple of times a day when you change her.

The infection may have yeast. Try some yogurt on it.

My wife used to use A&D ointment on our babies. Might try that and if the "home" remeties don't work, check with a doctor. Good luck. Don't let her suffer. Pops
