Justine she is a far more consistent player evidenced by her final appearances in all 4 grand slams. Sharapova is getting there but it will take her some more time to dethrone the short crafty belgian

I would have to go with the Belgian. She is a much better player than Sharapova. Henin Hardenne is consistent in tournaments and there is never a trounament where she does not do well. She has alerady won five grand slams. Sharapova is like up in the clouds today and down in the sea tomorrow. She has only won two grand slams in three or four years on tour. Everyone expected so much from her, being young and one of the glamour girls on tour. She hasn't yet done what everyone else expects. Currently, there's many players better than her. And by the time she's in her mid-20's, there will be several other youngsters on tour. I do expect more from the Russian, she is still very young. But I doubt she will overpass what Henin-Hardenne achieved or what she is yet to achieve.

In a choice of the two, I have to pick Henin-Hardenne because she doesn't sound obnoxious on the court like Sharapova and I don't believe Henin has ever ignored an injured opponent on the court unlike Maria in Miami last March. However, no one will ever award Justine sportsmanship award either....

Wow! I don't think I'd like to choose between Henin Hardenne or Sharapova. They're both "top shelf," with the exception that it's fun to watch Sharapova do a short "dance," just before she serves.

She'll give her opponent a meaningful glance on occasion that adds to the game.

Love 'um both.

But then there is Hingis and Dokic too - they are all good for the game.

Definitely Henin-Hardenne, hands down. She's the most consistent player there is on the tour. She's the Federer of women's tennis right now, and who could argue that Federer isn't the best? Despite her showing at the 2006 Aussie Open, I've moved on because she's shown she can win. She's my favorite player because she isn't going crazy with endorsements and she doesn't have a height advantage to get shots over the net, but she's got spirit and fight and works really hard to win. It's such a shame that she often easily injures herself. Maria relies too much on her grunt, serve and groundstrokes, which on a good day are amazing, but on a bad day are sporadic. Plus, I just don't think she's very pretty... she is tall, but nothing near Anna Kournikova.

Henin Hardenne hands down. Best consistency in tournaments, doesn't need to scream like a horse, and having that much of a disadvantage physically she still wins.

Miko should get best answer.
