Not likely, my brother in law has a school of piranha and they often ram the sides of the tank when startled. However, you do need to be careful of the heater. If it is a glass walled element the ramming piranha can break it and get electrocuted.

No cuz the tank is 5 3/5 inches thick so he can't get through it even if he uses his large tentacles. or x ray powers. my piranha did that before but the tank was 2 7/57 cm thick which was quite easy to destroy. Hope this helps

I have heard some horror stories of fish busting the glass, but what can you do? put the fish in a plywood box? tie a leash on him so that he cant reach the sides of the tank?

It would be very, very unlikely that he could crack the tempered glass in your aquarium.
