Stupidity is abundant worldwide, so is ignorance and gullibility and therefore, Americans do not have a monopoly on this at all. However, as an American myself, who have traveled the globe around a few times, I would say that I find a large majority of Americans as the most brainwashed society on earth. That is, severely conditioned by corporate America and by politicians on a daily basis, from birth to death and with no relief/hope in sight.

Probably because those who are not stupid, ignorant or gullible and snatched the power readily understood that they would be better off if the people stayed stupid, ignorant and gullible. Yes, a bit like the middle ages when the happy few thought that the people shouldn't know how to read and write because if they did they wouldn't obey anymore. The lack of education (or the misinformation) is the base on which grows the ignorance and thus the acceptance of the mischiefs of those gouverning us.

For the same reason that people from everywhere else are so stupid, gullible and ignorant. Narrow mindedness exists everywhere. Don't hate all Americans because of the actions of a few of them.

I am an American. In my opinion, their ignorance is based on the Christian religion. They would rather stay ignorant than face or accept the truth. They are stupid and close minded and yes gullible but that is where blind faith and lack of free will gets you.
