Yes, very fictional. The "hospital building" they show in the program is actually Fisher Plaza, home of KOMO-TV, the local ABC affiliate. The helicopter pad on top of the building is used by the traffic reporter. The hospitals in Seattle are actually located on the eastside of the city in an area known to locals as "Pill Hill" because of all the medical facilities there.
I don't know about the illnesses. I suppose they're real.
