One of the worlds most famous actors was Jimmy Stewart. His life story is interesting. Also, if you want to read an inspiring life story. Read the story of Rigoberta Menchu. She is a recipient of the Noble Prize for Human Rights. She lost 13 family members to violence during a dictatorship in her native Guatemala in the 70s and 80s. She is Native and her story was first translated to the Spanish and then the English. Her story is inspiring and it really makes you take a hard look at the world around you and what you yourself think. Her book is called, I, Rigoberta. It is still in print.
Another biography I loved reading was the life of Madam Curie. She is an inspiration to any woman. The things she overcame to become one of the most famous women in history is the stuff of legends.
I hope I have given you some ideas. Enjoy.

And one that I have loved since I was a child is the Bible, especially the Old Testament with all the stories of Noah, Samson and Delilah, David and Goliath, etc.

I just read a book by Phillip Done. He is a 3rd grade teacher - if you like kids, this book is great. I was laughing out loud a lot. I think the name of the book is "32 kids and one classroom rabbit"
