I'm glad you asked. I'm a Chiefs fan, so I know. HE SUCKS !!! Shottenheimer is a great regular season coach, but when it really mattered he choked. Twice ( 1995 and 1997 ) the Chiefs after a great season lost the first game of the playoffs at Arrowhead. In 1997 Shottenheimer used Rich Gannon to go 13-3, the starting quarterback ( Elvis Grbac) finally recovered from his injuries. Then there was a controversy who should start the playoff game. Shottenheimer chose the returning quarterback Grbac, and then repeatedly told reporters leading up to the game that he had full confidence in Grbac. When the game was played Shottenheimer didn't allow Grbac to throw even once in the first half. That resulted in the Chiefs having little offense. In the second half, Shottenheimer finally turned Grbac loose. Grbac completed every single pass, except for the very last one. A desperation throw into the end zone to win the game. Shottenheimer showed everyone that he couldn't be trusted at crunch time. He is a conservative coach, he might be very aggressive during the regular season ( if he's pressured enough by other coaches ), but when it really matters he makes bad decisions. What's really disturbing is that he doesn't ever seem to learn that you should use the strategy that got you there in the first place. His playoff record is 5-12.

Marty's never really been a good playoff coach, kinda like Tony Dungy. But, then again, San Diego usually ends up going on the road in the playoffs; it's a whole new ballgame having to go to Qualcomm.

Uh, how about the worst? This guy singlehandedly sunk some superior Cleveland Brown teams in the late 1980s with terrible clock management and poor game planning. Remember Elway's Drive and countless other Bronco late game comebacks? Marty was unwittingly behind it all.
The guy should have given Elway's Hall of Fame Induction speech, since his own coaching ineptitude paved Elway's way to Canton.
Marty is the biggest choke artist since Rocco Siffredi. Charger fans beware.

Marty has not fared well in the playoffs. In the past he has ran into juggeraunt teams and came up short. This year he has the juggernaut team. Let's see what he does with it.

His record is poor in the playoffs, but I don't know that it's fair to pin that on him. I mean, he's not the guy who fumbled going into the end zone to lose the AFC Championship. The players are the ones who have the most to do with it.

Not good at all, as good as he is in the regular season he's struggled in the playoffs. But in his past he's only had #21 once, and not playing like he has.

As a KC CHIEFS fan, I know firsthand about his record...home or away. ITS TERRRRRIBLE. That's why, after Larry Johnson (the CENTAUR) runs for 240 yds and 5 touchdowns saturday, we will go to San Diego and pull a 2005-6 Pittsburgh Steelers whooohooo... oh yeah....hahahaha the broncos suck. just had to put that out there. (feel really bad about darrent willams tho)
