Does anyone consider themselves a North American?

What countries does that include? Or what countries do you feel it includes when someone says they are from North America. Does anyone rememer how many countries that includes, or perhaps what you think it should/shoudn't include. As a continent are we proud? or confused.What about aboriginals? You know the true North Americans.

A continent is a large mass of land that is distinctive from an island or peninsula. If you think of it in that term, then it North America is rightly justified as being made up of Canada, US, and Mexico.
Being a North American simply means that you are from Canada, US, or Mexico, it doesn't have any other significance on your culture or anything else because people in these countries differ greatly from state to state/ territory to territory.
Also, claiming to be a North American is no different than claiming to be from either of its 3 countries.
In a sense, it implies that you believe that the 3 countries are united or should be considered as one.

US, Canada, and Mexico...plus all the islands, Greenland, Puerto Rico, Jamaica....about 20 others....
People rarely consider themselves "North American." Like all people, they seem to prefer to be identified by their nation rather than their continent...

I dont believe people from North America consider themselves "North Americans".They just know they are Americans, as you are aware the original North Americans are the American Indians.
