Every time a president dies, they go here and there. The families must go to each place and this usually goes on for a week. Don't you admire the famileis of these men for all that they go through? When a loved one dies, three days drains us. Don't you admire Betty Ford and all of the wives of presidents and their children for all that they endure? My heart goes out to them how about yours?

I watched today and thought---how sad that the family has to go through their grief so in public. I've seen many Presidents pass--I was 12 when Pres. Kennedy was killed. Today tho, Mrs.Ford touched me, I just wanted to gather her up and give her a cup of tea!!! Has it been 10 days!? I totally admire the woman, everything she's been thru in her private life and these last 2 weeks!!!

Yes, I totally agree with you. To have the whole world intrude on your most vulnerable moments. It was touching to see the one son trying to hold back his tears. They are usually so stoic and you never see them show emotion. It was so heartfelt. Mr. Ford was a very down to earth man and a wonderful husband and father. His children were lucky to have him as long as they did.

oh yes ,i agree all the way.she has been through so much in her life,and even though she knew this was going to happen soon ,you are never really prepared for anything like that. my heart goes out to her and her family

i am amazed to see the 88 year old former first lady carrying out her duty absolutely well. she stood by her husband even in death. she is the best and he was a very very lucky man.
