songs about trying to write songs are terrible. Not just because they're cliched but because the writers think that they're being clever or deep.
For example, 'these words' by Natasha Beddingfield is a hideous song. Its made worse by the lyrics being all about writing a song and then repeating the words 'i love you' in quick succession in the chorus. The word 'love' is probably the most over-used word in music as it is, and its inclusion to 'these words' is all the worse when there is nothing but shallow lyrics about trying to write a song behind it.
I had to vent.

Oh and "Sunshine," the song MacArthur Park is about love and the cake thing is just a lyric. Yes, the song's a 'mess' because the singer is messed up over love. That's exactly why it works so well. Its not a song about a cake!

probably ping pong, realistically.
i like a nice cup of coffee and u could drink it almost anywhere
and with anyone. u could even make a song that is romantic or even sexy.
can't think of anything remotely sexy about ping pong.

There's a punk band from Manchester called Kamikaze Sperm who used to have a song called "My Mohican" which was about the singers Mohican.
That's pretty stupid.

I always thought Wierd Al Yankovic's "My Bologna" was the most stupid, dumbass song I ever heard.
It was meant to be a funny parody of "My Sharona", and was a total flop.
